Never allow anyone to try define who you are, remember to stand up for yourself. Don't allow others to bully you and always fight, you are worth it. Fight .....

Started carving yesterday made a lot of headway .. sandstone is a different medium for me. Going from glass to stone but a soft stone has been fun. Using  knives and finishing it up with a dremel. Finding new ways to do findings by using other materials then metal.

Painting is coming along and I have been working on wood which is one of my favorite materials to use while my canvas paintings are drying. New pictures are coming soon.

Becoming an Artist

posted Apr 23, 2012, 6:02 AM by Sarah Platt   [ updated Aug 17, 2012, 11:37 AM ]

Recently I have been working on several paintings at one time.  I have been trying to get a large portfolio together

to do a gallery show. I have been working everyday and working on my style and technique .

I find it interesting that as I continue to grow as an artist my interest continue to grow. Particularly in other artist in doing research and a fair  balance of soaking  up as much of the masters art as I can . I study them and pour myself over ever piece of art and every word they say. It is very important to have influences from the past and from those of the present . You can't be a great artist with out respecting those from before and now.
